Chris Petersen and Catie Lutt would like to announce the birth of their baby boy Francis Charles Petersen. He was born on October 19, 2023, at 2:05 a.m., weighed 9 lbs.

Tribute Quartet is coming to Prairie View Gospel Barn

Tribute Quartet will perform at Prairie View Gospel Barn at 6:30, Sunday, December 3, as part of their “Always Grace” tour. Since 2006, the multi award winning and multi Dove Award nominated recording group, Tribute Quartet, has become one of the country’s most dynamic, beloved, and sought-after male quartets in all of gospel music.

Eight students headed to the Oral Interpretation State Festival

The Gregory oral interpretation team took six pieces and eight competitors to regions on Nov. 12, and five pieces and all eight competitors qualified for the state festival. The competition was held at the Ramkota Convention Center in Pierre with fourteen schools participating. The top three in each category qualified for the state festival.

Commissioners divided on changing Gregory Highway Department hours

Jerod Bolling showed up for the public input portion of the meeting of the Gregory County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, November 21. Frustrated with an adjacent landowner who has a locked gate on a section line fence, prohibiting him from getting to his landlocked land, he asked the board to re-open the road on the section line.

Start of something big for US beef producers

The United States Secretary of Agriculture recently announced that all the meat purchased by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) must be meat from animals born, raised, and slaughtered in the United States. In other words, the AMS will only buy meat that is exclusively U.S. meat produced exclusively in the United States.

Gregory Animal Clinic donates to local FFA chapter

The Gregory County FFA Chapter officers, Aubree Miller, reporter, and Nick Kenzy, president, received a donation from Dr. Gary Straight from Gregory Animal Clinic. The clinic is enrolled in a Zoetis program where a portion of all products sold are donated back to the local FFA chapter. Funds are used to help students attend events like National FFA Convention, Black Hills Stock Show, and Leadership Retreat. They appreciate Dr. Gary Straight for participating in this program, as well as customers that purchase the products.
