G/D Chamber of Commerce has new executive director

Trenton Seegers has taken the helm of the Gregory/Dallas Chamber of Commerce. Local to the area, Seegers is a graduate of Colome High School.

The Gregory Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire that was out of control at the tree dump on Monday, March 21. The city had burned trees on February 23, and the wind caught it from the right direction to turn a still-smoldering pile into a blaze. It followed a draw up to the shoulder of the road, where it traveled to the top of a hill, but the fire department was able to get it extinguished.
BID hosts 2nd annual career fair

This year’s career fair was expanded to include booths for nine universities and technical schools. In addition to area students, adults were invited to visit the booths during the noon hour.
Rena Grim is city’s new postmaster

Rena Grim has officially been named the new postmaster of the Gregory Post Office. A lifelong resident of Gregory, Grim started filling in at the Gregory Post Office the first of this year, and officially took over as the permanent postmaster on Saturday, March 12.
Police Chief Catts is back on the beat

Police Chief Doug Catts’ presence has been very scarce in town for the past few months, but for good reason. He was attending law enforcement training in Pierre in order to qualify to serve in South Dakota.
Gregory school will undergo some major changes before start of next school year

The regular meeting of the Gregory School District Board of Education was held at 4:30 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2022, in the high school conference room.
