Ronald Veskrna

Graveside services for Ronald Veskrna were held on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Czech National Cemetery in Gregory, SD, with Emmett Kotrba officiating.

Interment was in the Czech National Cemetery in Gregory, SD with military honors conferred by the Colome American Legion and the Air Force Honors Team. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ronald Van Veskrna was born September 24, 1947, to Van and Delores (Scholz) Veskrna. He grew up on a farm south of Gregory, SD. Ronald attended country school and graduated from Gregory High School in 1965.

Ron started driving gravel trucks at an early age and later drove coast to coast until his early retirement due to health reasons. Ron enjoyed helping his brother Don run his loader business, farming, feeding cows, and cleaning feedlots for many farmers.

He was a member of the Colome American Legion.

Ron is survived by his mother Delores, step-father George Jerred, siblings Karen Geaghan, Mary Klinetobe, Don Veskrna and nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his father Van, infant son Ronald, and brothers-in-law, Lorren Klinetobe and Mike Geaghan.
