Robert Larimer

Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Paul Larimer were held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Saints John and Paul Catholic Church in Altoona, IA, with Father Mark McGeary officiating. Interment was in the Altoona Cemetery in Altoona, IA. Hamilton’s Funeral Home, of De Moines, IA, was in charge of arrangements. Bob was born October 20, 1935, in Valentine, NE, the only child of Paul Everett and Marie Alvina Larimer. From third grade through high school Bob lived with his grandmother and his aunts and uncles in Burke, SD, while his parents worked as domestic servants in the Chicago area and later ranched near Valentine, NE. He graduated from Burke High School in the class of 1954 and was a graduate of the University of South Dakota with a bachelor of science in education degree in 1967. He was a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.

Elden Nolan

A Mass of Christian burial for Elden Nolan was held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Fairfax, SD with Father Ron Garry officiating. Music was provided by Roberta Witt, organist. Shannon Nolan was Lector, Cindy Nolan and Holly Palumbo presented the gifts, and Mason and Emmie Hausmann were altar servers. Casket bearers were Paul Nolan, Justin Nolan, Kody Nolan, Brian Ford, Wayne Bahr, and Justin Hellbusch. Interment was in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Spencer, NE. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Elden James Nolan was born August 2, 1929 in Ravinia, SD. He was the fifth of five sons born to John Nolan and Amy Gibson Nolan.

Donna Howland

Funeral services for Donna Howland were held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Winner Methodist Church in Winner, SD. Burial was in the Winner City Cemetery in Winner, SD. Mason Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Donna Lee Faubion Howland was born on May 30, 1950 in Winner, SD to Richard (Dick) and Dorothy (Stoltenberg) Faubion. Growing up in the Millboro area, Donna cherished countless memories with her parents and her brother, Rick Faubion. Donna was a graduate of the Winner High School class of 1968. Donna balanced her education with a full-time job while attending Sinte Gleska. In 1981 she met Dennis Howland and they were married on October 23, 1982.

Leona Storms

A Mass of Christian burial for Leona Storms was held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Winner, SD. Burial was in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Clearfield, SD. Mason Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Leona Lavern Quick Storms was born March 30, 1928 to Elmer and Juliette (Schultz) Quick in their home in Tripp County, SD. The family moved to rural Hot Springs, SD where she attended grade school. She attended her early high school years in Sturgis, SD before they moved back to the Clearfield area, where she then graduated from Colome High School in 1946.

Kevin Jons

A memorial service for Kevin Jons was held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bonesteel City Hall in Bonesteel, SD with Pastor Russ Grim officiating. Inurnment was in the Rosebud Cemetery in Bonesteel, SD. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Urn bearers were Kelly Jons, Kerry Jons, Kent Jons, Kory Jons, Kiley Jons, and Kasey Jons. Honorary urn bearers were all of his family and friends. Kevin Lee Jons, age 64, was born on April 13, 1960 to Winnie Jo and Marvin Jons. He grew up participating in football and basketball. Kevin graduated from Bonesteel High School in 1979. He moved to Sioux Falls and devoted 33 years of work to Nash Finch. He enjoyed interacting with his nieces and nephews at every given chance. Kevin also had a love for dogs. Kevin enjoyed fishing and hunting alongside his friends and family.

Dennis Phillips

Funeral services for Dennis Phillips were held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Winner, SD. Burial was in the Winner City Cemetery, in Winner, SD. Mason Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Dennis Ralph Phillips was born June 14, 1946, to Ralph and Elsie (Brickman) in Winner, SD. In his childhood days, he grew up on grandpa and grandma Phillip’s farm. He went to West Banner Grade School until 1958 when he moved off the farm and went into Winner where he finished grade school and high school, graduating in 1964. Dennis was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church. He married Carol McIntosh on February 20, 1965, and were married 59 years. To this union one son Russell Todd was born on December 7, 1965.

Gary Hahn

A celebration of life for Gary Hahn was held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sterling First United Methodist Church, Sterling, KS. Burial was in the Sterling Cemetery in Sterling, KS. He was born January 19, 1938, in Gregory, SD, the son of Jack and LeVerne Driscoll. Gary graduated from Gregory High School in the class of 1956 where he pitched a number of no-hitters for the American Legion Junior Baseball Team. After a short stint on the freshman basketball team at the University of Minnesota, he enlisted in the Army where he competed on the basketball team in Germany.
