The Gregory Spikers traveled to Tyndall on Saturday, September 20, 2025, to compete in the Bon Homme Cavalier Clash. In pool play, the Spikers faced off against some tough competition—Elk Point-Jefferson, Lennox, and Andes Central/Dakota Christian. Despite their efforts, they came up short against EPJ and Lennox, but battled hard to secure a win over AC/DC. With those results, we were unable to advance into the championship bracket.

The Gregory Spikers put together a hard-fought day of volleyball on Saturday, September 6, 2025, showing resilience and teamwork as they battled through pool play and capped it off with a strong fifthplace finish.

The Gregory Lady Spikers faced a tough challenge against the Wagner Lady Red Raiders and came up short in three sets on Thursday, September 11, 2025. “While the scoreboard didn’t end in our favor, I was proud of the effort and the way our girls continued to battle throughout the match,” Head Coach Lauren Braun said.

The Gregory Spikers put together a strong performance at home against Wessington Springs on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, showcasing balance, hustle, and determination across the roster. “As head coach, it’s hard to have those hard fight matches that end in a loss but it propels us forward for the next game,” Coach Lauren Braun commented.

The Gregory Gorilla football team faced Bon Homme at home Friday evening, September 12, 2025, in a battle that Head Coach Mike Murray expected to be tough, with the Gorillas losing by a final score of 18-49.

The Gregory cross country runners have been putting on a lot of miles over the past week, first at home last Tuesday, then Sioux Falls on Saturday, and Scotland on Monday. “The team has been very busy, and the runners have been working hard both in practices and in meets,” Coach Lonnie Klundt commented.

A media report suggests there’s been a call by the beef industry to reopen the Mexican border to live cattle imports. That report was made about the same time as the Aug. 27 report by Reuters that Mexico had a 53% increase in New World screwworm cases since July. The Reuters report stated there were 5,086 cases of the pest in Mexico, including 649 active cases.
