Cagers claim victory over Wagner, Burke

The Gregory Gorillas held off Wagner on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, to earn a 56-55 victory over the Red Raiders. Hot shooting from behind the arc propelled the Gorillas to a 22-18 first quarter lead, and a 36-33 at the halfway mark.

Storm wrestlers win at home, place fifth in tournament

The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestlers had two events this past week. They hosted a triangular on Tuesday, January 4, with Lyman and Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington, winning both duals.

Boys basketball 1-1 for the week

The Gregory Gorillas picked up a 63-36 win last Tuesday over the AC/DC Thunder. The Gorillas held a 43-18 lead at halftime after a huge first half from Daniel Mitchell as he poured in 22 points in the half. The Gorillas outscored the Thunder 16-10 in the third quarter, and were outscored in the fourth quarter after the running clock was in effect.

Lady Gorillas have a busy couple of weeks

The Lady Gorillas traveled to Springview, NE, on December 21 to take on the North Central Knights. The game went back and forth, exchanging leads throughout all four quarters. After the 4th quarter, the game was tied up at 38, with Gregory scoring 9 in overtime and North Central scoring 10 for a final score of 47-48. Gregory shot 20 of the 46 for 43% from the field and North Central shot 15 of 37 for 40%. The Lady Gorillas were 4 of 7 on free throws and North Central was 15 of 18 for 83%. Leading the way for Gregory were Brooklynn Kenzy with 14 points, 19 for Jessy Jo VanDerWerff, and 14 for Cassidy Keiser. Gregory had 20 rebounds and North Central had 23. Cassidy Keiser led the way with 7 rebounds, Brooklynn Kenzy 4, Gracie Kenzy and Jessy Jo VanderWerff 3 each, Sierra Rencountre 2, and Mya Determan 1. Jessy Jo VanderWerff had 4 steals, Brooklyn Kenzy 3, and Cassidy Keiser led with 6 steals. Cassidy and Jessy Jo led with 2 assists for Gregory.

Gorillas play in Hoop City classic at the Corn Palace

The Gorillas played in the Hoop City Classic at the Corn Palace on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, and were dealt a 65-59 loss from the Canistota Hawks. The Gorillas started the game with a flurry and held an 18-13 first quarter lead.

Gregory lands five players on the Missouri Valley All-Conference football team

The coaches of the Missouri Valley Conference voted five of the Gregory Gorillas to be members of the all-conference team. The 2021 team members are: • Kade Stukel (792 all-purpose yards on offense, 48 tackles on defense) • Owen Hansen (1088 all-purpose yards on offense, 63 tackles on defense) • Eli Fogel (375 all-purpose yards on offense, 62 tackles on defense) • Trey Murray (325 all-purpose yards on offense, 81 tackles on defense) • Rylan Peck (2100 all-purpose yards on offense, 69 tackles on defense) Jaden Graber was also an honorable mention selection with an uncountable number of blocks on offense and 37 tackles and one touchdown on a 10 yard fumble recovery on defense.

When we want to improve our daily lives, we may not look to Occupational Therapy (OT) as a source for solutions. OT is often thought of as relating only to employment. However, the term “occupation” actually includes any tasks that we do during the day, or in other words, “skills for the job of living.” OT helps people to do the things they want and need to do to live life to the fullest despite injury, illness, or disability.
