Boys golf team wins tournament

The Gregory boys came out on top at the Burke-Platte Golf Tournament, held May 13, six strokes ahead of Ethan, the runner up. Platte-Geddes ended the day in third place with 293, followed by Hanson with 300. Bon Homme placed fifth with 319, only two ahead of Kimball/White Lake. The Burke team finished the day with a team score of 328, which put them in seventh place, with Corsica- Stickney’s 330 close behind. Only one stroke separated MVP from Corsica-Stickney, landing MVP in ninth place.

Gregory County wins two on the road this week

Gregory County defeated the Lead-Deadwood Varsity Golddiggers 15-0 on Sunday, May 1, as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. In the first inning, Gregory County got their offense started when Rylan Peck singled on a 2-2 count, bringing in one run.

Rain cuts golf meet short

The varsity golf meet in Scotland on Friday, April 29, was cut short to only nine holes because of wind and rain. Kade Stukel and Eli Fogel continued their trend of close competitors and teammates as they finished in a four-way tie for second place, shooting a 39 for the day.

Middle school track team competes in Platte

The Gregory middle school track teams competed in the Platte-Geddes meet on Thursday, April 21, 2022. The seventh grade girls placed fourth, and the eighth grade girls placed eighth. The seventh grade boys team ended the day in 11th place, while the eighth grade boys finished third.

Gregory high school track runs in Redfield

The Gregory track team traveled to Redfield on April 21, 2022, for the Redfield Relays. This was a very large track meet as there were 23 teams competing.

Stress less this spring

Spring is a wonderful time of year when we emerge from our sleepy winter homes and prepare for a summer of activity and adventure. This time of year can also bring stress as family and school activities reach a fever pitch and businesses prepare for busier days.

Middle school golf teams compete in Tyndall

The middle school boys and girls golf teams traveled to Tyndall for the Avon-Scotland meet on Tuesday, April 19. AJ Lutt was the top finisher for the boys, shooting a 58 on nine holes to tie for eleventh place.

Sioux Falls VA Healthcare leader reassigned amid complaints

The director of the Sioux Falls VA Healthcare System has been reassigned following a multitude of complaints about mismanagement. The VA’s Midwest region director Robert McDivitt said Lisa Simoneau will stay with the Veterans Affairs Department and serve at regional headquarters in the Twin Cities.
