Another successful week of 4-H workshops were held

On Tuesday, June 13th, Gregory County 4-H also held an All About Horses workshop led by Mollie Andrews. Youth learned lots of things about horses including different breeds, anatomy of a horse, conformation, and the tack used in grooming and riding. The youth also learned the parts of a saddle and the correct way to catch and tie their horse.

On Thursday, June 15th, Gregory County 4-H and South Dakota Discovery Center put on a Science of Flight workshop where kids learned how and why different things are able to fly. The youth did numerous experiments demonstrating different things air can do, and cause.

On Sunday, June 11th, Gregory County 4-H held a showmanship workshop at the Burke rodeo grounds. The youth learned more about how to show different animals, about different questions that would be asked by judges, and about how to prepare their species for fair day from our guest instructors.

On Tuesday, June 13th, Gregory County 4-H - with the guidance of Prairie Feather Photography - put on a photography workshop where the kids learned about different ways and methods of taking pictures. Youth brought their own cameras and learned what to look for when taking pictures of other people. Youth used different props and backgrounds to get the perfect portraits of each other.

On Thursday, June 15th, Gregory County 4-H - with the help of South Dakota Discovery Center held a Bubble Festival Workshop. The youth experimented with different tools and objects to create different bubbles. They also were tasked with completing different challenges like creating the most bubbles and making the biggest bubble.
