Burke VFW holds flag retirement ceremony

  • The Burke VFW and Legion held their annual US Flag Disposal Ceremony on June 14th, 2026 on the south side of the Burke VFW building. There were about 15 people in attendance. Eight large tubs holding approximately 400 flags were properly disposed of. It took about 20 minutes. The Burke Fire Department and the Burke Police Chief were on hand to assist.
