Samantha Timanus named 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar

The family standard for high academic achievement was started with Samantha’s great-great grandfather, Harry Jewell, who graduated in 1925. The June 4, 1925, Gregory Times-Advocate reported the following: “The scholarships for the boys were awarded to Noel Hoblit and Harry Jewell. These scholarships are good at any state or denominational educational institution.”

U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona has announced the selection of Samantha Timanus of Gregory, SD, who attends Gregory High School in Gregory, as a 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar.
