Firefighters still busy fighting wildfires

“We need rain.” That’s the message from Valentine Fire Chief Terry Engles as the Anderson Bridge Fire continues to smolder within its perimeter. He said the rugged terrain is making firefighting efforts more difficult. The Anderson Bridge Fire started Thursday, March 12, south of Kilgore and has burned approximately 16,182 acres.
