Gregory County 4-H has another busy week of workshops

On Friday, July 7, Gregory County 4-H, with the guidance of Rose Wolf, got youth together to learn how to make candles during our candle making workshop. The participants learned about the science of making candles, including steps such as how to melt wax and what to look for when making a beautiful center piece.

On Friday, June 30, Gregory County 4-H got youth ready to celebrate the Fourth by holding a 4-H of July Chalk Art Workshop on Main Street in Gregory. The youth got to use their creativity to draw fun and patriotic art to put everyone in a festive mood for the 4th of July activities.

On Monday, July 10, Gregory County 4-H kids recycled old CDs in their CD crafting workshop. The youth turned old CDs into scratch art by painting them and later scratching designs into the dried paint. They also recycled CDs by making them into fun spinning tops to take home.

On Thursday, July 6th, Gregory County 4-H youth stepped into the kitchen for the Bake-A-Thon workshop. Under the guidance of Suzanne Braun, they were able to experiment and test their baking skills, making a wide variety of tasty treats and goodies. The youth learned about the science behind baking and some basic skills that they can use at home.

On Wednesday, July 12, Gregory County Community Health collaborated with Gregory County 4-H to educate youth with a first aid workshop. Participants made their own first aid kits and learned how to use the different supplies. With the knowledge about their first aid kits, they are now more prepared for small accidents and big emergencies.
