Proper Flag Disposal Ceremony held on Flag Day in Burke

  • The Burke American Legion and Burke VFW held their annual US Proper Flag Disposal Ceremony on Flag Day, June 14, 2025. Roland Holub, Burke Legion Commander, presided over the ceremony. Nearly 20 people gathered outside the Burke VFW Post #9950 on Saturday. There were about 450 unserviceable flags to be disposed of that had been turned in or dropped in the drop box outside the VFW.
