Quilts are only part of Vlesta Schmidt’s story

94-year-old Vlesta Schmidt stands amidst dozens of quilts she has made over the past couple decades recently, on display at St. John Lutheran Church. Her daughter estimates that she has made a total of about 170.

One wall is covered with photos of every member of her family.
