Veterans honored as part of new VA recognition program
Milo Jelinek, served in the US Army from August 1961 to July 1963 in Hawaii. Chief Experience Officer from South Dakota Veterans Affairs presented him and Lee Straight with a framed certificate and coin in a ceremony held at Silver Threads.
Lee Straight, 96, was honored for his service during the Korean war and for being a veteran over the age of 90 in a special ceremony May 27. He lived in Highmore for 95 years before moving to Silver Threads. He is the father of Dr. Gary Straight.
