Weather not an issue for in-house Thanksgiving parade at Gregory School District

The students of Gregory Elementary School put on their own version of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade through the high school hallway on Tuesday. A drum corps of middle school band students Avery Birkel, Gracelyn Lanz, Ava Schweigert, and Robby Ring led the parade to the cheers of the middle school and high school students lining the hall.

Unlike the big parades, the balloons in this parade were more manageable and posed no danger to buildings or people due to gusty winds. Each elementary class carried themed balloons they decorated during their STEM activities in the library. The fifth graders and their Tom-the -Turkeys followed the drum corps to lead the festive balloon parade.

Students in grades begindergarten through fourth decorated their balloons according to the “under the Sea” parade theme. The begindergarten “stars” carried starfish balloons.

The kindergarteners donned turkey hats as they carried their crab balloons.
