School’s new notification system to be up and running before first of the year

During her administrative report at the regular meeting of the Gregory School District Board of Education, held at 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2024, Superintendent Sara Anderson informed the board that the school’s new website, app., and notification system will be done before Christmas break. Mrs. Anshutz and Ms. Lozano have been instrumental in getting this done. The app will be available for free on the app store, and the links for the app and website will be posted on the school’s Facebook page.

Funeral services to be held for Janice Lindquist Funeral services for Janice Lindquist, age 78, of Gregory, SD, will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at Prairie View Gospel Barn in Gregory, SD. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Gregory, SD. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Gospel Barn. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SDDVA and SAL Squadron #6 to lay Christmas wreaths in honor of our veterans

The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs (SDDVA), in partnership with Midwest Honor Flight and Wreaths Across America, will host a wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, December 14. The event will take place at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery Committal Shelter, located at 25965 477th Avenue, Sioux Falls, starting at 11:00 AM CT.

Pool fund continues to grow

After the Bronco fundraiser, a matching pledge challenge up to $200,000 was issued, beginning July 9. Since that time, various fundraisers have been held, and the total amount of money toward the matching funds is currently at $28,298.40.
