Commentary by Bill Bullard, CEO, R-CALF USA Effective November 22, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s veterinary agency, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) temporarily suspended the importation of cattle from Mexico. This was APHIS’ response to a recent notification that Mexico had detected a cow with new world screwworm in southern Mexico.

Questions about the city’s tax discretionary and tax rebate formulas were finally put to rest at the regular meeting of the Gregory City Council on Monday evening, December 2, 2024. The topic had been discussed at a previous meeting, but required some detective work to find out what happened to them. Although the rebates were no longer being offered, the information had never been removed from the city’s website, causing confusion as to why they were no longer available.

Junior members of the Association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in Association- sponsored shows and other national and regional events.
