Gregory American Legion to hold fundraiser on Mon., Nov. 4, 2024

Dear community members, The Gregory America Legion is raising funds to fix the roof of the building and we need your help please. We are holding a fundraiser on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Legion Club. We will be having a Chili and Soup Competition (2 categories) - with prizes; a pie auction will also be held and we will be showing the Monday Night football game “Kansas City Chiefs vs the Tamp Bay Buccaneers.

Traditional pheasant season opens Saturday, October 19

The leaves aren’t the only orange South Dakota residents will be seeing for the next several months. Hunters donned their high visibility gear this past weekend as pheasant season opened for South Dakota residents only for the weekend of October 12-14. On Saturday, October 19, the traditional season for both resident and non-resident hunters will open.

FFA Ag Communications team bound for National competition in Indianapolis

1969 was the last year Gregory or Burke had an FFA chapter, until Mollie Andrews came along. The idea of a county wide chapter was something that had never been done, but Andrews was determined to make it work. In 2021, Gregory and Burke joined forces to create “Gregory County FFA” Two rival schools had to learn to make friends with one another, be on the same team, and step out of their comfort zone.

Lakota Youth Development hosts storytelling workshop for local youth

In a heartfelt initiative to empower the next generation, Lakota Youth Development (LYD) organized a captivating storytelling workshop this past weekend at 621 Main St., Gregory, SD. The event brought together young participants eager to hear their cultural stories and connect with their heritage through the art of storytelling.
