Or have you experienced the opposite, waking up to the warm sunshine and feeling refreshed, energized, and ready to take on the day. Florida will be a long time recovering. Where will we get our orange juice? These more frequent intense weather events are worldwide; Japan, China and Taiwan have had record typhoons (hurricanes developing in the Pacific) or drought wise, the Amazon is at its lowest level ever.

Boes put on hot seat again for fence

At the regular meeting of the Gregory County Board of Commissioners, held Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Chair Jessy Biggins discussed two phone calls he had received regarding the fence that Commissioner Byrain Boes recently installed alongside a section line road. The issue is that the fence is located in the right-of-way because the drop-off is too steep to move the fence out any farther. The callers argued that Boes is abusing his power as a commissioner in not following the setback requirement and even suggested he be removed from the board.

John Hansen to lead Gregory’s Homecoming parade on Friday

John Hansen has been selected as parade marshal to lead this year’s Homecoming parade at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2024. Hansen retired at the end of the 2023-24 school year after a record 50 years with the Gregory School District.

Wipes are cause of backup in Gregory’s city’s sewer line

City Finance Officer Trudy Waterman reported that the public works department had been called to clear a plugged sewer line recently. Alice Slade contacted the city, reporting that her basement had filled up with raw sewage on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
