Construction on new hangars to begin in 2025

At the regular meeting of the Gregory City Council on Monday, September 16, 2024, the council approved the airport Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) grant pre-applications for the t-hangars that are scheduled for construction in 2025. SPN & Associates, the engineering company the city is working with on the project, had to re-do the application because the project was moved to 2025 with completion in 2026 in order to secure more funding. The city’s share of the AIP will be $28,026 and $43,948 for the BIL. For about $70,000, the city will have a new hangar with four stalls worth about $800,000. Some of that $70,000 has already been spent on engineering costs in preparation of the project. City Finance Officer Trudy Waterman has already received calls from airplane owners interested in renting a stall.
