American Legion District 3 fall meeting to be held

The annual District 3 fall meeting of the South Dakota American Legion will be held Sunday, September 29, 2024, in Miller, SD, for Legionnaires from Hughes, Hyde, Potter, Stanley, Sully, Gregory, Lyman, Tripp and Hand counties.

G.F. Buche assumes full operation of Al’s Oasis, a historic South Dakota company

Al's Oasis, the South Dakota travel landmark just off I-90 at Oacoma, will soon have its restaurant operated by G.F. Buche Company, a South Dakota retailer since 1905. The company purchased the Al's Oasis complex in 2022, opening a Buche Foods grocery store in the facility while leasing the popular restaurant to an independent operator.

Kurt Stukel named “Coach of The Year” for track and field

Gregory’s Principal Jeff Determan, left, presented a trophy to Kurt Stukel, right. Stukel, the Gregory boys/girls high school track coach has been selected by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as the 2024 South Dakota Boys High School Track and Field Coach Of The Year. This honor is based on leadership and the success of the Gregory boys track and field team last season. The Gregory boys were the outright Class B State Champions last spring and co-champions for Class B in 2023.
