Fall programs and events are underway at the library

STEAM Club began on Monday, September 8, from 3–4 p.m. for 1st– 5th graders. This program will run throughout the school year on Mondays except holidays and school breaks. STEAM Club is open to all students, public or home schooled. Snack donations are always appreciated, as the kids are hungry after a full day of learning.

Gregory School District Board Member honored for years of service

Gregory School District Board Member Todd Schweigert was honored by Associated School Boards of South Dakota with the Distinguished Service Award, which honors school board members for reaching milestone years in their service on their local school board.

Zeisler wins Fed Cattle Challenge

Avery Zeisler is the winner of this year’s Fed Cattle Challenge. For her first place finish, she was awarded $1500 and tickets to the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation’s Gala and concert The Fed Cattle Challenge provides an opportunity for youth to learn about the science and economics of finishing cattle by participating in a calf finishing program. Participants and groups gain an understanding of the process for finishing cattle through ownership of a percentage of a pen of cattle (roughly equivalent to three head) at a custom feedlot, receive curriculum on twelve topics related to cattle feeding, calculate a closeout, and present what they have learned to a panel.

Governor Rhoden celebrates record-breaking Build Dakota awards

On September 4, 2025, Governor Larry Rhoden celebrated the awarding of 630 new Build Dakota Scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year, the highest number in the program’s history. These recipients make up Cohort 11, representing the 11th year of scholarship awards through the Build Dakota program.
