G&D Chamber Ribfest well attended, served over 200 people

The 2025 annual Ribfest attendees “got the heat sweats and the meat sweats” with 110 degree temperatures, and 238 people served. Seven teams were entered to compete on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Gregory, SD. Each team was judged on a ten point scale in these three categories; taste, appearance, and tenderness.

Status of swimming pools still uncertain as council comes up with alternatives

Several lifeguards and pool manager Jana Winters were on hand at the Gregory City Council meeting Monday evening, June 16, 2025, to find out the status of the city’s twin pools for the summer. The pool is losing tens of thousands of gallons of water, but Public Works Superintendent Guhner Kepler has not been able to determine where it is leaking or where all the water is going.

SDSU announces spring 2025 dean’s list

More than 3,800 students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance over the spring 2025 semester at South Dakota State University by being named to the dean’s list. To earn dean’s list distinctions in SDSU’s colleges, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and must have earned at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
