76th Annual Czech Days to be held in Tabor

Merriam’s Midway Shows carnival on the midway and the Craft Fair in the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home kick off the 76th Annual Czech Days celebration on Thursday, June 19, 2025. The Tabor Bluebirds baseball game with Lesterville will be at 7:30 p.m. in Leonard Cimpl Park followed by the Rich Schild Memorial fireworks display will conclude the first day of the Czech Days celebration.

Gregory Gorilla track relay team to compete at Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, OR

Four members of the Gregory Gorilla track team have earned a spot in the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon, June 19-22, 2025. The sprint medley relay team of Max Cook, Luke Stukel, Pierce Stukel, and Fin Adams will be competing against some of the best teams in the US at the Hayward Field on the University of Oregon Campus.

Multiple chip seal and fog seal projects scheduled to begin in the Mitchell area

On Monday, June 9, 2025, two separate crews began simultaneous work on chip seal and fog seal projects on various highways in the Mitchell area. School record broken after 25 years at state meet

The Gregory school record for the sprint medley relay, set in 2000 by Dan Fiebelkorn, Josh Hogue, Tim Dacy, and Chris Mikkelsen was broken on day one of the state track meet in Sioux Falls, May 29--31, 2025, by the team of Max Cook, Landon Keiser, Pierce Stukel, and Fin Adams.

DWU announces spring 2025 dean’s list

Dakota Wesleyan University recently released its spring 2025 dean’s list which includes 27 graduate students and 325 undergraduate students. To qualify for the undergraduate dean’s list, a student must have a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 on a four-point scale.

Cattle group urges approval of ivermectin feedthrough to prevent screwworm outbreak

In a formal letter to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM), R-CALF USA’s Animal Health Committee called for swift approval to add ivermectin as an oral feed-through in livestock and wildlife feeds as a precaution against the potential introduction of New World Screwworm (NWS).
