USDA launches new online scheduling tool for farmers and ranchers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is putting farmers first by offering them a new option to schedule appointments online with their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office. Following a successful pilot program, FSA is now using a digital appointment platform across the agency to allow producers to make farm program or farm loan appointments online at their convenience.

South Dakota Supreme Court case processing sets new standard

With the release of two opinions on July 10, the South Dakota Supreme Court has resolved all cases considered during its court term year that began August 2025. As the Supreme Court begins its work now for its new term year, this will be the first time the Court has decided all pending cases from the prior term year before beginning a new term year. In prior years, the Court has started its new term with a handful of cases remaining from the previous year.

Baltimore, MD - The Social Security Administration (SSA) has announced a first-of-its-kind commemorative Social Security card for children born in the United States between July 2 and December 31, 2026, celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence. Independent cattle producers urge USTR to apply Section 301 tariffs to Brazilian beef

Last week, R-CALF USA testified before the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative during a public hearing on the Section 301 investigation into Brazil’s trade practices, urging the agency to remove Brazilian beef from its proposed list of tariff exemptions and apply a 25% tariff to all Brazilian beef imports.

Pool fund continues to grow

The fund for a new swimming pool was $745,627.76 at the end of June, an increase of $3,136 from May. Although the matching $200,000 from the Karl family/foundation has already been given to the fund, the community’s portion is still $69,304.86 short of qualifying for that generous gift.
