John Harter, a lifelong South Dakotan, rancher, and farmer from the Winner/Colome area in Tripp County, announced his candidacy for the South Dakota House of Representatives in District 21. A Republican, Harter aims to deliver principled conservative leadership and a farmer’s voice to Pierre.
Firefighters are gaining the upper hand on the wildfires in Nebraska and South Dakota. The Morrill Fire in western Nebraska was 98% contained as of March 22.
Maddie Toll, a second-year medical student at the USD School of Medicine, is finishing up her third week of a three-week rotation at Avera Medical Group Gregory and Avera Gregory Hospital. Maddie is far from home, having graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
