Legion becomes home to new mural

A beautiful new mural now graces one of the walls of the Gregory American Legion Hutchison Post #6. The mural is a memorial commissioned by the family of Darrell L. Jones, who served in the U.S. Army National guard as a medic from 195665. Jones was also Commander of the Gregory American Legion 2000-2002 and 2004-2007, and for 20 years (1998-2017) Darrell and his wife Sandra managed the Legion. The mural, thoughtfully painted by artist Kate Witt, is rich in symbolism and not only honors Darrell’s service and contributions but also brings a vibrant and reflective space to the community, reminding all who see it of the values of duty, honor, and remembrance.
