Students blossom through art at GHS

During the Gorilla Good News portion of the Gregory School District Board of Education’s regular meeting on Monday, May 12, 2025, Mrs. Baldwin and several of her students presented a sampling of the various art projects completed during the 2024-25 school year. The students learned about perspectives, negative creations, technical drawing, hieroglyphs, making frescoes, carving, and other techniques. Many projects were on display for the board to view in the school lunch room.

Small-town newspapers say mail delays are crippling their business

Delayed Postal Service deliveries of small-town newspapers are frustrating readers, undermining subscriptions and hurting advertising revenue, according to publishers across South Dakota. “It’s taking nine days to get a paper from Armour to Sioux Falls,” said Julie Hinckley of Rocket Printing, which prints several small-town publications.

Lonnie Klundt to deliver keynote address at GHS commencement

Lonnie Klundt is a proud alumnus of Gregory High School, Class of 1985, and a 1990 graduate of the University of South Dakota. A dedicated educator and coach, Lonnie currently serves as the Title I math teacher at Gregory Middle School, where he continues to impact young lives daily through both academics and athletics.

Big fundraiser planned for Dallas Fire Department

Charlie Johnson has organized a big fundraiser for the Dallas Fire Department on Friday evening, May 16, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to midnight, at the Cocktail Lodge and former minimart on the service road in Dallas, next to Cody’s and Frank Days Bar/Rumors.

Gregory County JV falls short against St. Mary

Despite a 5-run deficit in the fourth inning, Gregory JV almost came all the way back, eventually falling 11-9 to the St. Mary Cavaliers JV at home on Sunday, May 4. Gregory County JV closed the gap by scoring on a single, a double, and an error.
