DANR reminds campers not to move firewood – buy it where you burn it!

With the summer camping season kicking off on Memorial Day weekend, the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) reminds campers to buy firewood where they burn it to minimize the movement of emerald ash borer (EAB) and other pests.

With the approaching June 4th Primary election, Gregory County Auditor Julie Bartling is providing factual information regarding the tabulating equipment used to count the votes cast at the primary and general elections of every county. She is also addressing the cost comparisons of use of the tabulators versus hand counting.

An examination of the records shows that a large portion of the business of the Missouri River steamboats pertained to the Native Americans who were the first to live along what came to be called “Big Muddy.” The many tribes were distributed along the course of the Missouri River and those of its tributaries, from St. Louis to their sources.
