Dostal indicted on four charges, including first degree manslaughter

On Friday, February 18, 2022, Alec James Dostal, Sr. was indicted on four charges: manslaughter - 1st degree, driving under influence, driving with revoked (not suspended) license, and failure to stop after an accident with an unattended vehicle.

A fire broke out

A fire broke out at the home of Craig and Mary Soesbe at the corner of 9th and Main Street in Gregory on Monday evening. On Tuesday morning, the Gregory Fire Department again responded to another fire at the same residence, in the attic. The cause of the fire was not known at the time this issue of the Advocate went to press.

Gregory County courthouse parking lot resurfacing hits first delay

The regular meeting of the Gregory County Board of Supervisors was held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Gregory County Courthouse. Additional safety measures are supported Concerned about safety, Carl Koenig asked the board to send a formal letter to the South Dakota Department of Transportation requesting a flashing red light and warning sign be installed when the intersection of US Highways 18 and 281 and County Road 54 is changed.
