Arlene Agnes Larson was born in Desmet, SD, on August 22, 1924, to Andy and Theresa (Fecht) Langmeyer.

Arlene married Richard Larson of Hamill, SD, on December 27, 1946. To this union were born seven children.

She grew up during the Great Depression, which made her appreciate the blessings the Lord had given her. She was always a very hard worker and a very simple woman. Arlene always had beautiful flower gardens. She loved watching things grow, from crops to her grandchildren. There weren’t too many Sundays that she didn’t have a dozen people or more for Sunday dinner. She always had time for church. Arlene’s faith and family were the center of her life.

In later years of life until she passed away she would pass the time by writing letters to her friends and family.

Arlene leaves a legacy of kindness, hard work ethic, and a strong faith.

She died peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the Avera Rosebud Country Care Center in Gregory, SD, at the age of 101.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant daughter, Rose Marie, grandson Terrance, a brother, and five sisters.
