Cherish Flood

A funeral service for Cherish Elaine Rose Flood was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday August 7, 2025, in the Gregory Community Room, Gregory, South Dakota, with Reverends Charles and Diane Wonnenberg officiating. Music was provided by Todd Bearshield. Casket bearers were Ted Eagle Star, Ed Eagle Star, Sidney Eagle Star, Chris Richards, Sage Eagle Star, Maverick Eagle Star, Raynen Eagle Star, Heyden Westfall, Robert Yellow Bird, and Desmond Hermendez. Honorary casket bearers were Marcus Eagle Star, Marsolow Eagle Star, Kaydence Eagle Star, Skye Eagle Star, Kenyon and Kelly Kolbe, Gionna Parkis, Donald White, Jayden Joseph, Wambli Shangreaux, Deja Marshall, Jasmine Williams, Gena Hefner, Annie Gunhammer, Josie Garcia, Chloi Johnston, Daylena Lambert, all friends, family, and relatives.

Interment was in the Mniska Presbyterian Cemetery in Dixon, SD. Arrangements were by Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home, Gregory, SD Cherish was born to Lucy Eagle Star and Tony Flood on May 1, 2007, in Yankton, SD. She grew up in Gregory where she attended elementary school and middle school. Later she moved to Sioux Falls.

Cherish was an outgoing and beautiful young lady. She was always laughing, singing, and dancing. Cherish enjoyed and loved her siblings. She lit up any room she walked into with her laugh and personality. She was a kind, caring, and fun person to be around.

Her favorite colors were black and blue. No matter where and when you saw her, she was more than likely wearing those colors. She will be remembered and loved always.

Cherish passed away July 26, 2025, in Sioux Falls, SD. She is survived by her mother Lucy, and father Tony, her grandmothers Della Stoneman and Rachel Rodriguez, great-grandmother June Hitcher, and many uncles, aunties, and cousins.

Cherish is preceded in death by her Papa Stan and Papa Chris.
