A funeral service for Clementine Mary Cane, age 78, formerly of the Milk’s Camp area, was held at noon, Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Bonesteel City Hall in Bonesteel, SD. Casket bearers were Dimitri Serr, Drazen White Bull, Tucson Yellow, Dredan Milk, Lucas Milk, Kingston Milk, and Zachius Wise Spirit. Interment was at Ponca Creek UCC Cemetery in St. Charles, SD. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Clementine Mary Cane was born April 17, 1947, at Wagner, South Dakota to Thomas and Eleanor (LeClaire) Cane. She was a direct descendent of Chief Good Cane Milk. She grew up in the Milk’s Camp area, attended school in St. Charles, SD, and obtained her GED in Pierre, SD. She then moved to Aberdeen to attend Northern State University, graduating in 1995 with a bachelors degree in Social Services. She worked in Mobridge at the Chief Gall Youth Treatment Center and retired due to her health.

Clementine was the most selfless, loving, and kindest mother and aunt a family could ask for. She always thought of others before herself. She provided a home for anyone that needed one; her door and table were always open to family and friends.

She had 46 years of sobriety, and she gave help to anyone who needed it. She was loved and respected by so many.

Clementine never wanted to go to a nursing home, so her two granddaughters, Mackenzie White Bull and Kaitlyn Brock, took turns caring for her until her death. She entered into eternal rest on February 2, 2026, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her children Suzette Antelope of Aberdeen, SD, Paulette Wright of Sioux Falls, SD, Darin Wright (Amy) of Sisseton, SD, Doug Wright of Sioux Falls, SD, and Tia Yellow of Ft. Yates, ND; 26 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Clementine is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Levi (Sonny) Cane, Everett Cane, Reginald (Buddy) Cane, Lars Cane, and Douglas Cane; her beloved sister Bonnie Rose; her daughter Shelia Antelope-Cane and infant son Robert Wright; her granddaughter Tomasine Hope; and grandson Ramy Hill.
