Deanna Joan Viktora was born June 6, 1939 at Burke, SD, to Otto and Helen (Rust) Tietgen.

Dee graduated from Bonesteel High School in 1957 and attended business school in Rapid City, SD. It was there she met Robert Viktora, and they were married on May 10, 1958, at Fairfax, SD.

Bob and Dee ranched near Fairfax before moving to Houston, TX, for a time. They moved back to Gregory and Mitchell, SD, before settling in Hot Springs, SD. Dee worked at the ASCS office in Hot Springs for the next 30 plus years.

Together they were very involved in their community. They started ranching back in Fairfax, and for more than 15 years they traveled back and forth between Fairfax and Hot Springs. They always found time to visit with family and friends. They enjoyed spending time going to plays and concerts. Dee’s greatest joy was her family and visiting with people.

She died March 11, 2024, at her home in Herrick, SD, at the age of 84 years.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Helen; her husband Bob; and her father-in-law John and mother-in-law Marie.

Dee is survived by her brothers: Darwin and wife Jan of St. Michael, MN; Don and wife Rennae of Brandon, SD, and Charley of Park City, UT; her brother-in-law Leo and wife Jan Viktora of St. Paul, MN; seven nieces; one nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to the St. Jude’s Foundation.
