A graveside memorial service for Linda Lou (Martin) Foster will be held on August 22, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Burke, South Dakota. Linda Lou Foster was born January 18, 1959, the fifth child of Robert and Betty (Tech) Martin in Burke. Linda attended school at Neuharth Country School. After the school closed, she attended the Burke School District, graduating in 1977. She went to National College of Business in Rapid City for one year then worked for a year. Her son Christopher James was born on September 13, 1979, in Rapid City. She and Chris moved to Springfield. There she attended USDS/Springfield, graduating in 1983. They then moved to Pierre, where Linda worked at the State Health Lab for 38 years, retiring in 2018. She also worked various parttime jobs. After retiring from the lab, she worked at Walmart full-time until 2020.
She met Bob Foster on November 15, 1989. They were married September 15, 1990, and had 36 years together. Shortly after the wedding, Bob adopted Chris and had many enjoyable trips following Chris and his many sporting events.
Linda Lou Foster passed away May 23, 2026. Surviving Linda are her husband Bob; son Christopher and his wife Kristina and their three sons: Trey, Wylie, and Finnegan; siblings Bob (Susan), Bev, Tim (Karen), Tom (Cathy); two estranged sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Preceding Linda in death were her parents Robert and Betty Martin; in-laws Robert and Selma (Leach) Foster; sisters-in-law Ellen Kelly and Barb Martin; grandparents; cousins; and several aunts and uncles.
