The Gregory High School competitive cheer and dance team is looking strong for the 2023 season. The team will again be coached by Lenna Braun and Assistant Coach Jenny Hansen. Last year’s roster had no seniors, so Cindy Khuu, Kaydence Klein, and Paige Rezac, the three seniors on the 2023 squad, already have valuable experience as team leaders.

Can the Gregory Gorillas repeat as state football champs this year? The 2023 South Dakota High School Football Media Prep Preseason Poll has them ranked #1 in 9A, ahead of Warner, Wolsey-Wessington, Castlewood, and Canistota.

Gregory might not have a swim team, but that hasn’t stopped five girls from competing in the pool. Hadley Braun, Sutton Braun, Averie Stukel, Mya Warnke, and Brenlee Braun have joined the Platte swimmers for the second summer to participate in swim meets.

Bats were blistered as Gregory Teeners 16U beat Kimball/White Lake on Monday, July 24, in the Region 2 VFW baseball tournament in Gregory. Both teams collected seven hits. Gregory came back to win despite trailing 9-5 in the fifth.

The last couple weeks have been jam-packed on and off the farm. From camps and community actives to haying and checking cows, we have been busy trying to stay ahead.

Gregory Co. 13 - Stanley Co. 3 In their first game of the region tournament on Tuesday, July 18, Gregory County Legion 18U scored eight runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Stanley County Post 20 by a score of 13-3. Lincoln Juracek doubled, scoring one run, Kade Braun doubled, scoring three runs, Jad Leber lined out, scoring one run, Sawyer Tietgen singled, scoring two runs, and one run scored on a balk.
