Four wrestlers place at MVP Tournament

The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestlers competed at the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Tournament on Saturday, December 21, and four of the seven wrestlers who went finished in the top six.

Gregory Gorillas fall to St. Mary’s Cardinals

The #3 ranked Gregory Gorillas opened their season on Thursday in O’Neill, NE where they were dealt a 64-43 loss to the #1 ranked St. Mary’s Cardinals. Each team relied on their defense in the first quarter while battling to a 7-7 tie after one quarter of play. Both teams got a little more offense going in the second quarter while Cole Serr netted 10 points for the Gorillas in the quarter.

Few in number but tough on the mats, wrestlers gain momentum

by Patty Connealy The Burke/Gregory Storm boys wrestlers started the week with a triangular meet in Winner, along with Wagner, on Thursday, December 12. In their first dual, against Wagner, Burke/Gregory won five of the seven matches wrestled.

Lady Gorillas drop home opener to Avon

The Gorillas opened the 2024-25 season at Gregory vs Avon on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. The Gorillas jumped out early and led 6-2 after the first quarter, but Avon held a 25 to 23 halftime lead.

Storm teams small but mighty at Custer competitions

On Friday, December 6, the Burke/Gregory Storm wrestlers dualed Custer, Harding County, and Hot Springs at the Custer Quad meet in Custer. With a short roster already plagued by injuries, the Storm gave up a total of 96 points in the three competitions because of forfeits.
