Gregory Spikers end season at SoDak 16 against Chester

The Gregory Spikers volleyball team faced off against the #1 seed Chester Flyers in Canistota in the first game of the SoDak 16 on Tuesday, November 12, and ended the season with a 3-0 loss. Set scores were 10-25, 8-25, and 15-25.

State Volleyball championships set for November 21-23, 2024 in Sioux Falls

The Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls is the site for the state combined volleyball tournament. The competition will begin on Thursday, November 21th, with opening ceremonies beginning at 11:00 a.m. (CT). There will be two sessions on Friday at 11:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. (CT). Saturday’s award session begins at 11:00 a.m. with the 7th & 8th and 5th & 6th place matches being played. The 3rd & 4th place matches will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday night followed by all three championship matches at approximately 6:45 p.m. (CT).

Activities association seeks consistency in officiating

The South Dakota High School Activities Association tries to ensure that the rules of sporting events are interpreted with consistency across the state. That is sometimes easier said than done.

Gregory Spikers earn a spot in the SoDak 16

This past week was really nerveracking, but super emotional and history making for the lady Spikers. On Tuesday, the girls faced off against Lower Brule at home. They were able to take them in a three set sweep, 25-12, 25-11, and 25-5. This was the momentum the girls needed as they pushed into the final round of the region tournament on Thursday night in Bonesteel.

Poll sheds light on South Dakota’s 2026 election outlook

Now that South Dakota’s 2024 general election is in the books, it’s time to take a deep breath and step away from politics for a few months to regroup, right? Well, not quite. Attention is already turning to 2026, when South Dakota will elect a new governor as well as hold races for U.S.
