Lady Gorillas drop two in first games of 2024

Gregory 30 - AC/DC 64 The Gregory girls basketball team started the New Year on the road at Lake Andes on January 2. Gregory trailed 7-13 after the first quarter and 15-31 at halftime.

Storm wrestlers claim sixth place at Miller

The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestlers finished sixth out of 17 teams in Miller at the Bob Lager Invitational Tournament on Saturday, January 6, with ten of the 14 wrestlers who went competing as varsity. The team is still missing their 175 pounder and one of their 120 pounders. Coach Webster is looking forward to getting them healed and having a full team back on the mat.

“Snow Boss” and other creative entries win SDDOT Snowplow Naming Contest

Four years ago, the annual Name the Snowplow Contest was created by the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) to engage people across the state in winter driving safety awareness and preparedness. The SDDOT encourages travelers to use SD511 resources to make informed travel decisions during winter weather.

Gorillas go 1-1 to finish out 2023

The Gorillas defeated the North Central Knights on December 19, 2023, by a score of 62-39. The Knights got off to a fast start and held a 14-5 lead before the Gorillas got their own offense started.

B/G wrestlers face tough competition at McCook Central tournament

The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestlers competed in the McCook Central/Montrose Invitational Tournament on Friday, December 22, in Salem. Short a few wrestlers, the team still managed an 11th place finish in a field of 20. This was reputedly the hardest tournament besides state, according to Coach Seth Webster. He believes that anyone who placed high at it has a good chance of placing at state.

Wrestlers finish third at Plankinton tournament

The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestlers hosted Kimball/White Lake/ Platte-Geddes and Parkston in Gregory on Thursday, December 14. With a full line-up of wrestlers and a very solid team in the middle weights and some open weight classes for B/G, KWLP won the match-up by a final score of 60-23.
