Schonebaum’s walk-off gives Gregory Co. the win

A walk-off single propelled Gregory County Club Baseball to a decisive, dramatic victory over Chamberlain-Kimball-Lyman Monday evening, May 1, in Gregory. The game was tied at nine with Gregory County batting in the bottom of the seventh when Jader Schonebaum singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Jessy Jo VanDerWerff led the varsity girls golf team to a third place finish in Burke on Friday, May 5. Winner came out on top with 281, followed closely by Burke with 282.

The Gregory track team took advantage of near perfect conditions at the Meet of Legends in Burke on Tuesday, May 2, putting up the best performances of the season in most events. “Luke Barreto ran his best and set a new meet record in the 3200m run with a time of 10:36.20,” Coach Kurt Stukel pointed out.

The varsity boys combined for a score of 255 to finish in fourth place at Lake Platte on Friday, May 5. Platte-Geddes won the tournament with 233, but Ethan kept the heat on, finishing one stroke behind with 234.
