Bats show up in Gregory Teener win against Kimball/White Lake

Bats were blistered as Gregory Teeners 16U beat Kimball/White Lake on Monday, July 24, in the Region 2 VFW baseball tournament in Gregory. Both teams collected seven hits. Gregory came back to win despite trailing 9-5 in the fifth.

Gregory Co. Legion team ends season with 8-6 record

Gregory Co. 13 - Stanley Co. 3 In their first game of the region tournament on Tuesday, July 18, Gregory County Legion 18U scored eight runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Stanley County Post 20 by a score of 13-3. Lincoln Juracek doubled, scoring one run, Kade Braun doubled, scoring three runs, Jad Leber lined out, scoring one run, Sawyer Tietgen singled, scoring two runs, and one run scored on a balk.

AG Jackley issues statement on Mitchell baseball investigation

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley issued the following statement regarding the investigation into allegations involving the Mitchell American Legion baseball program: “Based upon the serious nature of the allegations that have been received and the public nature of the investigation, I am confirming that the State Division of Criminal Investigation and assisting agencies are engaged in an ongoing investigation of complaints surrounding the Mitchell American Legion baseball program.

Gregory Jr. Teeners end season in a play-off for the region championship

Gregory Jr. Teeners 14U defeated Corsica-Stickney 11-1 on Monday, July 10, thanks in part to seven runs in the sixth inning. Jacob Klein doubled, scoring two runs, Landon Keiser singled, scoring one run, Aiden Frasch singled, scoring one run, Dylan Fiebelkorn grounded out, scoring one run, and Hudson Fuhrer singled, scoring one run.

One hundred and five compete in the annual 4th of July Fun

There were 105 runners and walkers that registered for the annual Run Fun sponsored by Avera Gregory Healthcare Center and the Gregory Athletics Club, held the morning of the 4th of July. Following are the top three place winners for each event.
