Gorillas claim victory over Kimball/White Lake, Scotland, and Bridgewater/Emery

The Gregory Gorillas won their first of three games on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Kimball, where they defeated the WildKats 45 to 39. The Gorillas took the early lead and never looked back even though the WildKats clawed their way back into the game late in the fourth quarter.

Two wins and a loss mark the Lady Gorillas’ past week

The Gregory girls basketball team traveled to Scotland Friday, February 10, for a double header. Scotland had a slim lead at the end of both the first and second quarters, 12-16 and 24-26. The Lady Gorillas came back after half-time, however, with a new strategy, and ended the third quarter with a commanding 44-35 lead and all but shut out the Highlanders in the fourth quarter to win 50-38.

B/G Storm wrestlers dominate in final triangular

The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestlers were all business on Tuesday, February 7, when they hosted Bennett County and Stanley County, winning decisive 60-18 and 60-24 victories over the two teams. Both matches were notable for the number of forfeits by all teams, but in the five contests wrestled in each, Storm wrestlers refused to give up a single point.

Cagers lose in overtime to start the week

The Gregory Gorillas started a busy week of basketball on Monday when they were dealt a 50-52 overtime loss to the #5 ranked Winner Warriors. Gregory led 13-9 after one quarter and 24-15 at halftime.

Girls have tough week of basketball

The Lady Gorillas hosted Parkston on Monday, January 30, losing a 43-56 contest. The game was competitive for the first quarter, with Parkston leading 17-15, but the Lady Trojans increased the gap by halftime with an 8-point lead, 31-23.
