Gregory hosted the Gregory Invitational on March 29th. The track meet wasn’t a perfect weather day, but we were able to get everything completed before the snow started falling. For the group as a whole I felt we competed well against the teams that were represented. I felt we had a good day in the field events. In the running events we struggled with some hand-offs in the relays; we will need to get that fixed in the near future. In the running open events we also found some success; we hope to continue to improve in that area also. It’s early yet in the track season, so we’re looking forward to getting stronger and able to compete at a higher level.

All-conference selections in girls’ basketball have been announced. Gregory placed 3 players on the all-conference teams. Jessy VanDerWerff, Brooklynn Kenzy, and Cassidy Keiser were selected to the South Central Conference allconference team. Jessy VanDerWerff and Brooklynn Kenzy were selected to the SESD all-conference team and Cassidy Keiser was selected to the honorable mention SESD conference team. A troop of Gorillas opened up the 2022 track season by traveling to Vermillion for the Dan Lennon Track Meet on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. This event is an indoor meet hosted inside the Dakota Dome on a 200 meter track.

Twenty-three wrestlers from Gregory have qualified for the Region AAU Wrestling Tournament, Saturday, March 12, 2022, in Mitchell, SD. In the Tots division, Lane Littau qualified at 40 pounds, Madden Janak at 53 pounds, Jaxon Miller at 53 pounds, Rage Kepler and Keanu Martin at heavyweight.

Wessington Springs 36 The Gregory Gorillas began postseason play on Tuesday, March 1st, as the #3 seed in Region 6B, and they hosted the #6 seed, Wessington Springs. The Gorillas out-scored the Spartans 13-6 in the first quarter and 14-13 in the second quarter and had a 27-19 lead at the half.

The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestling team was represented by four wrestlers at the South Dakota High School Activities Association State Championships over the weekend of February 24-25, at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.

Gregory hosted Wessington Springs in the opening round of play in Region 6B. Gregory came in as the number 4 seeded team and Wessington Springs the number 5 seed.
