    City council weighs plans for next phase of water and sewer project

    Phase II of the city’s water, sewer, and streets infrastructure project was at the top of the agenda as the Gregory City Council met at 6 p.m., Monday, October 20, 2025. Representatives from SPN & Associates, the company providing the engineering for the project met with the council to discuss different options.

Steve has hunted in Gregory on opening weekend for about ten years, usually with his son, and says he loves coming to the area.

    South Dakota students continue to outpace national peers on ACT

    South Dakota’s graduating class of 2025 earned an average ACT composite score of 21.0, well above the national average of 19.4. The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. The test includes four academic skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science.

    R-CALF USA statement on plan to increase Argentine beef imports

    On Sunday, October 29, 2025, aboard Air Force One, the Associated Press reported that President Trump announced his plan to bring US beef prices down by importing beef from Argentina.     Increased receiving capacity and bunker space should reduce wait times and support the strengthening of market access for growers CHS Inc., the nation’s leading farmer-owned cooperative, is expanding capacity to improve efficiency at its Winner, S.D., location to better serve local farmers now and into the future. The facility has increased its receiving capacity from 10,000 to 15,000 bushels per hour and is adding one million bushels of new bunker space.
