Gregory takes 72 entries to music contest

On Friday, May 5th, 2023, the Gregory fifth through eighth grade band students participated in the area instrumental solo music contest at Winner. Gregory had a total of 6 I+’s, 36 I’s, 12 I-‘s, 10 II+’s, 7 II’s, and 1 III for a total of 72 entries.

Funeral services to be held for Rodger Adams, 71 A funeral mass for Rodger Adams, age 71, of Papillion, NE, formally of Gregory, SD, will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Papillion, NE. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Chalk Walk is coming to Gregory on Saturday

We’re at that in-between time of year when the weather is no longer too cold and not yet too hot to be enjoyable. It’s the perfect time to spend outdoors, and the Gregory/Dallas Chamber of Commerce has a fun activity planned with that in mind.

Luke Murray and Eli Barreto chosen to attend Boys State

Two Gregory High School junior boys will attend South Dakota Boys State May 29 - June 2, 2023, on the campus of Northern State University in Aberdeen. The Dallas American Legion post is sponsoring Trey Murray, and the Gregory post is sponsoring Eli Barreto.

Council to look for alternatives to additional city shop expense

The regular meeting of the Gregory City Council was held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2023, at City Hall. Engel wants to bring community “All Together Now” through summer reading program Former council member and library liaison Guyla Husman has agreed to fill the vacancy on the library’s board of trustees, Librarian Tara Engel informed the council.

Gregory High School seniors were awarded scholarships during the commencement exercises held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium.
