Boys XC looks to be top team at state

The boys cross country team returns everyone from last season, which placed 5th at the state meet. The boys will look to improve upon that 5th place finish at state and set their goals for a top three finish this year.

Girls XC team returns three varsity members

The Gorilla cross country teams will kick off the 2024 season Friday, August 30, at Winner. Running will start at 10:00 with JV/MS girls, followed by JV/MS boys, varsity girls, and varsity boys.

Gregory and Tripp counties have a new 4-H educator

After years of waiting for just the right person, Gregory and Tripp counties have a 4-H educator, in the form of Chelsea Hutchison. The newly-married Hutchison (July 20) lives on a ranch near Presho.

Dr. Gary Straight receives Distinguished Service Award

Dr. Gary Straight, DVM, of the Gregory Animal Clinic was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award at this year’s meeting of the South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, on August 15, 2024, in Rapid City, SD.

Area receives rain after dry spell

This week’s weather was met with mixed reactions as the area received over an inch of rain within four days. Farmers trying to get hay put up have been frustrated with the meager precipitation that isn’t enough to be of any significant benefit in any way but was enough to delay baling.
