Skipper Bros Guiding on Lake Francis Case, the bite is a little tough with all the bait fish around. It seems to be a better jig bite on the south end of the reservoir. There’s lots of bait, catfish, drum, and smaller-eater walleyes near the bridge area. Both jigging and trolling seem to be working equally well. It’s possible to get limits of decent fish!

Fatal Crashes: At 3:22 p.m. Monday, U.S. Highway 16A, mile marker 27: A 2002 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by a 63-year-old male, was traveling westbound on U.S. 16A near mile marker 27. The motorcycle left the roadway to the right, entered the westbound ditch, and overturned. The driver became separated from the motorcycle. The driver sustained fatal injuries.

The younger a person is, the more exciting birthdays are. Conversely, as we age, the observance of birthdays is a mixed bag. Some dread the yearly reminder that time passes despite best efforts to refuse aging, but others celebrate that they made another trip around the sun and still live to make another.

2026 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally vehicle count – through day three

STURGIS, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will provide daily traffic counts at nine locations for vehicles entering Sturgis for the 86th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which runs from August 7-16, 2026.

Gregory County FFA earns Two-Star Chapter Award

The Gregory County FFA Chapter was again recognized as a twostar chapter at Nationals. The chapter received a national chapter award at the state convention in April, and placed 7th overall.
