Rescues Unlimited to have Angel Tree at Runnings during October

During the month of October Rescues Unlimited animal shelter will have an angel tree at Runnings in Gregory. Pictures of the shelter animals available for adoption will be posted on the tree, and customers can donate at he register to honor one of the pets.

Bishop’s Hunt and dinner coming soon

Bishop Scott Bullock of the Catholic Diocese of Rapid City, SD, will be in the Gregory and Tripp County, SD, areas on Thursday and Friday, October 9 and 10, 2025, for the annual Bishop’s Hunt and Dinner for Seminarians.

South Dakota Commission on gaming issues reminder: private possession of slot machines is illegal

The South Dakota Commission on Gaming is reminding the public that the private ownership or possession of slot machines is strictly prohibited under South Dakota law. This reminder follows a recent increase in online advertisements offering slot machines for sale by individuals, which resulted in seven machines being seized and ordered to be destroyed following the September 16, 2025, commission meeting.

Rotunda town hall held as part of civics and media series

Representatives from each branch of South Dakota’s state government told an in-person and televised audience September 18, 2025, how they keep each other in check. The “Separation of Powers Town Hall” was held in the rotunda of the Capitol in Pierre.

Gregory American Legion Auxiliary presents donation to Legion Post

The members of the Gregory American Legion Auxiliary presented a check of $5,000 to Greg Smith, Commander of the Gregory American Legion Post 6. The Auxiliary sold chances to win a beautifully crafted Dignity quilt over the course of the last several months.
