Noem waives hours of service regulations to deal with fuel shortage

Governor Kristi Noem has signed Executive Order 2021-10 granting extended hours of service for the commercial delivery of petroleum products in South Dakota. The order declares a state of emergency and exempts delivery of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and ethyl alcohol from federal motor carrier regulations on drivers’ hours of service.

SD Attorney General joins suit against Google for antitrust law violations

Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg has joined a coalition of 37 attorneys general to file a lawsuit against Google in California. Utah v. Google alleges exclusionary conduct relating to the Google Play Store for Android mobile devices and Google Billing. This antitrust lawsuit is the newest legal action against the tech giant, claiming illegal, anticompetitive, and un fair business practices. The States accuse Google of using its dominance to unfairly restrict competition with the Google Play Store, harming consumers by limiting choice and driving up app prices. The lawsuit is co-led by AGs in Utah, New York, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Since 1921, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier monument in Arlington National Cemetery has been a tribute to American service members who have died without their remains being identified. For this 100th anniversary, the Mary Chilton Chapter, NSDAR & the SDSDAR have arranged for “A Call to Honor: The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Replica” to come to Sioux Falls as part of a two-day commemoration in honor of our veterans and those still serving in our military.
