    Dear Editor: South Dakotans, it’s time for a change! It doesn’t matter whether you blame the Democrats or the Republicans, the fact is, our congress is not doing their job. Politicians fussing, and fighting, and namecalling, and railing against the opposing party is getting old, and it’s just not funny anymore. This won’t change until we make a change. So, it’s time - vote them ALL out of office!

    In June of 1883, the County Clerk at Canton (Lincoln County) came to work and found a man of 77 years, giving his name as Szvman Szezech, resting his weary limbs at the office door. “I want a license,” the visitor said, “and I want it right away quick – I’m in a hurry.”

    Schenefeld runs 100 miles to compete the Cowboy 100

    Melissa Schenefeld has accomplished something that few, but a rapidly growing number of, people have done. Over the weekend of September 27-28, 2025, she ran 100 miles in the Cowboy 100 through Nebraska.

    The regular meeting of the Gregory City Council was held at 6 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2025. Councilman Stacy Boes stated that the street department has some items that need to be surplussed, specifically mentioning the old yellow truck, which is still being used, and an old generator.

    Gregory, Burke communities display hometown generosity

    The Gregory and Burke communities have been hard at work fundraising for the family of Beau and JeanAnn Bryan whose two boys, Wesley and Sawyer, are battling the life-threatening disease Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
